Let food be your medicine- Amla (Indian gooseberry) Chutney
Health benefits- very good source of vitamin C, good for cholesterol, good for digestion
Ingredients:
Amla (Indian gooseberry)
Jaggery
Dry Ginger
Mint leaves
Salt
Chilli powder
Black pepper
Black salt
Boil half kg of Amla, remove the seeds mash it and put it in a pan. Mix 300gms of Jaggery, ½ spoon of Dry Ginger, ½ spoon of Cinnamon powder, finely cut Mint leaves (nearly 40-50 leaves), Salt to taste. Cook it for 5-10 minutes, if you like you can also add chilli powder or black pepper. In the end, add little bit of black salt. This chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 months. It can be used like jam on the bread for children, eaten with chapattis etc.
