Let food be your medicine- Flax seed panjeeri
Flax seed is a super food rich in nutrients like omega 3 , unsaturated fat and high in antioxidant. It reduces bad cholesterol. Helps in retaining the good cholesterol, so is good for the heart, aids in weight loss. It’s a good source of fiber – reduces constipation and is very helpful for skin problems.
There are various ways to introduce this super food in our diet. Flax seed can be roasted and eaten raw or in powder form. Soak and boil the seeds, this decoction can be taken daily or have it like a panjeeri.
Recipe (Flax seed panjeeri)
100gms Flax seeds
50gms Almonds
25gms Cashew nuts
50gms Sesame seeds
25gms melon seeds (kharbuje ke beej)
50gms dry grated coconut
200gms Jaggery powder
– Slightly roast the flax seeds and sesame seeds separately.
– Grind the flax seeds with almonds, cashew nuts.
– Add the jaggery powder, roasted sesame seeds and melon seeds to the mix.
Eat it for breakfast with a cup of milk.
